Virtual School Visits with Dan Freedman

Dan Freedman reading from a Jamie Johnson book beside the Premier League trophy

Bring the author of the Jamie Johnson series into your classroom. HATRIQA organises live online sessions with Dan Freedman for schools, so pupils can meet the writer behind the books without anyone needing to travel.

About Dan

Dan Freedman was a reluctant reader at school, but harnessed his love of football to develop a love of words. He went on to work as the England team's in-house journalist, travelling with the squad to two World Cups and interviewing Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and David Beckham, before becoming a Sunday Times bestselling author and an ambassador for Premier League Primary Stars. His books have sold more than one million copies worldwide, and he has made more than 2,000 school visits.

What schools say about Dan's visits

I can't even describe the vibe in school today - everyone, including adults, were buzzing from your visit yesterday. Thank you Dan for sharing your story of resilience, passion and following your dreams. And the queue for books after school was really something to behold - a teacher's dream!

Ameena Gamiet, Head of English, Trevelyan Middle School, Windsor

I will never forget our student Jimmy who refused to read a book until he met you on a school visit, he then wrote a letter to the BBC along with some of our other students to ask for the Jamie Johnson books to be made into a TV series. Now that's impact!

Kelly Longman, LRC Manager, Debden Park High School, Essex

We have had lots of positive feedback from all students and parents have even emailed to say how much their children have mentioned about this session at home. I even have a student that read one of your books in less than 24 hours which is incredible because he actually refuses to engage in English lessons.

Kathryn Oliver, Teacher, Life Skills Manor for Autism

Brilliant day. Thanks so much for visiting and your incredible session. Our children will remember this forever.

Angela Nelson, English Teacher, Consett Academy, Durham
